Duties

You will serve as a Lead Accountant, and in this capacity, you will:

-Develop and update Finance Directives and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on accounting and financial reporting operations. Assist in reviewing and monitoring accounting operations and internal controls to identify internal control deficiencies, make recommendations to correct them, and implement the corrections. Maintain the Finance intranet, which provides the Office operational information, procedures, and guidance to the agency.

-Function as a lead accountant, working with the Finance Director, finance staff, contractors, and NEA’s shared service provider to process and perform reviews of weekly, monthly, and year-end accounting transactions and accounting closing tasks.

-Work closely with the Finance Director, finance staff, and shared service provider in the preparation of the Agency Annual Financial Report, monthly Governmentwide Treasury Account Symbol (GTAS) Adjusted Trial Balance filings, and monthly, quarterly Data Act Reporting.
