This exciting opportunity is due to a recent acquisition. The Controller will be highly visible reporting to both operating executives as well as corporate level finance leadership. The Controller will manage a team covering day to day accounting as well as supervise month end close, perform GAAP financial reporting and conduct related analysis covering their business and projects. This will be a real opportunity for a strong candidate to partner with the business and make an impact. Key duties for this challenging Controller position will include: Managing and mentoring the Accounting department responsible for operational accounting, financial reporting and business support. Providing financial reporting to the corporate team including technical monthly GAAP reporting as well as operational metricsOverseeing the month-end financial close including hands on performing of closing entries as well as ledger reconciliations Preparation of budget, forecasts, project plans and related cost projectionsCreation of internal management reporting relating to projects and job by job budget to actual analysisActing as key liaison to the outside CPA firm for the external annual financial auditProviding day to day leadership, training and mentorship to the staffPerforming ad hoc analysis and other duties as assigned by the Executive leadership Working to develop KPI and improve profitability by reviewing project margins, labor and other project outlays Partnering with the executive team to accomplish business objectives and goals Please submit your resume in confidence to Raj Khanna, Senior Vice President to be considered for this position or one of our other immediate openings in the Washington Metro area.Job Requirements:Bachelor degree in accounting or related field5 or more years of financial leadership experience including management of a team and performing the financial closeProven knowledge of US GAAP and technical financial reporting Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, NetSuite or IntacctStrong Excel skills including the use of LOOKUPs and pivot tablesCPA and/or prior public accounting experience is a plus Robert Half Finance & Accounting matches skilled professionals with remote or on-site jobs in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more on a full-time basis.
