The Vancouver International Auto Show has been canceled for the fourth year in a row and will not take place in 2023.
March’s event would have been the 100th edition of the Vancouver International Auto Show after it was first held in 1920 but has been canceled because supply chain issues mean many car manufacturers are unable to commit to participating in the event. This comes after the 2020, 2021, and 2022 iterations of the show were canceled because of Covid-19 restrictions and supply chain issues.

“For the last several months, we have been working with vehicle manufacturers and other partners in anticipation of returning in-person to celebrate the 100th edition in the traditional Auto Show in March,” New Car Dealers Association of BC president Blair Qualey said. “Unfortunately, ongoing global supply chain issues mean that a number of manufacturers and distributors are not in a position to commit to participating in many North American auto shows, including Vancouver. Without the solid participation of manufacturers, we are unable to produce the kind of quality show that both we and auto enthusiasts from across the province have come to expect.”
Interestingly, Canadians still have a couple of auto shows to look forward to. The Montreal International Auto show will run from January 20-29 and is expected to attract three-quarters of the market’s most popular brands. In addition, the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto will run from February 17-26.
