About 1,800 jobs are to be made in South Yorkshire building 10 new environmentally pleasant airships.

Hybrid Air Autos (HAV), a tiny Bedford-based corporation, declared on Wednesday it experienced signed a deal to give a Spanish airline with 10 of its 100-passenger Airlander 10 helium-stuffed airships.

The plane, which the firm says will have underneath a tenth of the CO2 footprint for each passenger of jet planes, will be designed at a new environmentally friendly aerospace production cluster in South Yorkshire.

Kwasi Kwarteng, the company secretary, claimed the commissioning of the Airlander showed that the United kingdom was at the forefront of “revolutionary” greener aviation engineering.

“Hybrid aircraft could engage in an important part as we changeover to cleaner forms of aviation, and it is fantastic to see the British isles appropriate at the forefront of the technology’s enhancement,” he reported.
