Donkervoort F22: The next era of Dutch supercars begins

Dutch supercar maker Donkervoort is known for its no-nonsense lightweight supercars, especially the D8 GTO. The company’s latest model is called the Donkervoort F22. It is said to improve on the D8 while maintaining the brand’s open-wheel heritage.

The Donkervoort F22 features a familiar design with an extra-long hood and a narrow nose section. The driver sits right above the rear axle. However, the car has a more aggressive look with a wide trapezoidal grille and dual LED headlamps up front, while the rear gets a rounded fascia with wide wheel arches and a large diffuser.

The interior of the F22 looks fairly sparse with a carbon dashboard, a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen on the passenger side.

The F22 is based on a tubular chassis made from carbon fibre and aluminium. It is said to be 100% more rigid than the outgoing D8 GTO. The car comes with new active shock absorbers and an adjustable hydraulic ride-height system. It also gets a removable twin Targa carbon roof.

At the heart of the F22 is a 2.5-litre turbo petrol engine sourced from Audi. It develops 367 hp @ 6360 rpm and 472 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear axle via a Torsen limited-slip differential.
